The ARRA Federal stimulus grant called “State Stabilization Aid” runs out in July 2011. These Federal dollars were used to level fund the State’s Education Cost Sharing (ECS) Grant to all of Connecticut’s communities for the last two years representing about 14% of this $1.9 Billion state education grant. Loss of these funds would have a significant impact on our public schools. What did this stimulus mean to your district? Below is the amount each district received under this plan for 2009-10, according the Connecticut State Department of Education’s Bureau of Grants Management, August 2010 report. The column highlighted lists how much each community could lose if funds are not restored. (http://www.sde.ct.gov/sde/cwp/view.asp?a=2703&Q=322314) |
